Book Fair is December 7th through 11th

The Book Fair is this week.  This year's theme is Monster Mash and our school's goal is to sell 1,001 books!  The students were able to make their book wish list this past Friday with the help from some of our 6th and 7th graders.  The wish lists were sent home in your child's binder on Friday.  We will be collecting coins this week.  Here is the schedule:

Monday- pennies
Tuesday- nickels
Wednesday- dimes
Thursday- quarters
Friday- ANY coin

The coin collection is optional.  The money that is sent in will help buy books for our classroom!  Book Fair Family Night is Thursday, December 10th from 3-7pm.  This is a great time for grandparents, aunts, uncles, and other special friends to come visit the Book Fair and the school.  Books make great Christmas gifts!!  There will be games, prizes, and a photo op with a "friendly monster".

Hat Day!

H is for Hat!  The students looked so cute in their hats Friday.  They really enjoyed wearing them at school.

Thanksgiving Pow Wow & Feast

Wednesday was super busy and SUPER FUN!  Our PreK Pow Wow started in the gym at 10:30.  The PreK 4 classes were "Indians" and the PreK 3 classes were "Pilgrims".  We kicked off the program with a song called Give Thanks.  It was beautiful!  Next, all of the classes sang and danced to a song called The Little Red Fox.  The program ended with all of the classes reciting a Bible verse and a singing a song called Don't be a Turkey.  After the Pow Wow, we went back to our classroom to enjoy our mini Thanksgiving Feast.  Thank you for sending in the yummy foods for them to eat!  Chicken nuggets, popcorn chicken, apples, grapes, cookies, carrots, dip, mini cornbread muffins, string cheese, and Capri Suns made for a kid-approved feast for sure!

"Nn" is for Nest!

This week we have been talking about the letter "Nn" and the sound that it makes.  On Tuesday, we read a story called "The Best Nest".  We went outside to collect twigs, leaves, pieces of grass, acorns, and small pieces of mulch so that we could make our own "best" nest for the letter "Nn".  The students really enjoyed this art project!  Their nests turned out so cute!
